About
A passionate performer, teacher, and reed maker
Sprinkle is a young and vibrant string instrument and woodwind performer/teacher from Arlington, Texas. Sprinkle’s goal in lessons is to provide the most robust and creative ways possible to help every student find their own unique musician from the inside out. Sprinkle’s ability to play multiple instruments at a high level is what makes them such a diverse and flexible teacher. As an oboe teacher, they provide the opportunity for students to learn reed making and adjustment. Sprinkle believes reed making is the corner stone to oboe playing. Sprinkle first started teaching lessons while still in high school and has been doing so ever since. While in high school, as a young musician, Sprinkle earned a spot in the all-state band three times on the oboe, ranking first chair in the 6A symphonic band senior year. Notable oboe teachers include Jane Owen of the FWSO, Erin Hannigan of the Dallas SO, Rogene Russell of the Dallas Opera Orchestra, Elaine Douvas from the Juilliard School, Dan Stolper from the Interlochen academy, Linda Strommen from Indiana University, and multiple more. Sprinkle learned violin under the direction of Laura Garrett, Jenny McHenry, Melanie Demer of the Forth Worth SO, and Dr. Andrej Kurti. Sprinkle was featured in the 2018 Basically Beethoven Festival as a “Rising Star” in classical music as stated on WRR 101.1 and performed the lost second movement of Beethoven’s Oboe Concerto.
Sprinkle had previously served as principal oboe in the New Texas Symphony Orchestra from 2016 to 2019 and has recently been reassigned the same position. As a teacher, Sprinkle has taught lessons in Arlington ISD, Birdville ISD, Dallas ISD, Little Elm ISD, HEBISD, Richardson ISD, and Frisco ISD. Sprinkle finished a Bachelors in Music Performance with Professor Leah Fosyth at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Sprinkle currently teaches online oboe lessons and is pursuing a Master’s in violin performance from the University of Akron in Ohio with Dr. Marlene Moses.
